A technology like augmented reality has become a reality in manufacturing over the past few years.
Manufacturing companies today find cases where new digital tools and technologies actually provide value, especially when it comes to education, training, instruction and remote assistance.
The use of digital assistance tools was in focus in the last MADE Innovation Conference of 2018.
As an example, augmented reality makes it possible for a Danish machine builder to quickly support a customer with a critical issue in another part of the world. The customer wears special glasses or uses a smart phone to provide realtime pictures of the machine. The Danish supplier and expert can draw specific instruction on his screens, and the drawings will appear to the customer’s eyes. This way, the technology facilitates new and better ways of instructions and customer services.
